This is one of four guided hikes which we offer to Mystic Falls. You can either meet us at the trailhead or we can pick you up in West Yellowstone or at Old Faithful. There is no additional charge for pick ups at those two locations. There are two ways we can access the trail, and we'll do one of those on the way there, and the other on the return trip. The first way is to get into the wilderness immediately, over a stream and across open meadows. The second is to start the hike through Biscuit Basin, and take in some of the many beautiful hot springs on the way. After walking through a forest for a period, the trail picks up the Little Firehole River until we get to Mystic Falls. You'll be able to admire the waterfall for a while, and explore the area, before we retrace our steps back. The hike is about 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometres) one way. We offer three other hikes which also visit Mystic Falls. These are all longer than this hike. One also starts at the Grand Loop Road, and continues on to the Biscuit Basin overlook after Mystic Falls. The other two start at Old Faithful, with one going to Fairy Falls, and the other hiking to both Fairy Falls and the Biscuit Basin overlook. Please take a look at the two videos we have of this hike.
