These Grand Canyon tours depart from Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, West Mesa/ and Flagstaff. You will be picked up from Phoenix at about 6.30 a.m. and head north out of Phoenix. The first stop is the Red Rock country of Sedona. You will drive through the entire length of Sedona, including Oak Creek Canyon - one of the region's most scenic drives - and uptown Sedona. There will be photo and shopping stops.
Depending on the route taken that day, you will get to the South Rim between about noon and 12.30 p.m. Some tours head up to the South Rim via the trading post at Cameron before entering the Grand Canyon at the seldom seen east entrance, while others do the tour in reverse entering at the main south entrance and leaving at the east gate. No matter which way it is done, on your tour you will get to see so much of what the Grand Canyon has to offer!
You will spend at least three hours at the Grand Canyon - much more than the equivalent tour from Vegas - and a skilled guide will escort you around the most scenic view points and strolls. There is also ample opportunity to shop for souvenirs.
Helicopter tours are available at the Grand Canyon at an additional charge.
The Navajo Nation and Painted Desert are also parts of the tour, with a stop at the Cameron Trading Post, on the Navajo Reservation. This is possibly the finest store of its kind with an unbelievable selection of southwestern souvenirs, native American jewelry, and western bits and pieces.
The tour gets back to Phoenix at approximately 7.30 p.m. Please note that no meals are included.
